A Middlesex Township woman and her boyfriend were charged Saturday after police said they found them living with two children and a sick, elderly woman in a home full of animal feces.
This is so disgusting! I literally want to rip out my stomach. Who would live through this? Who would put someone through this?
Monica Bohn, 31, and Michael Z. Karns, 28, were each charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children and one count of recklessly endangering another person.
Police said they were called to Wertzville Road around 5:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of three children playing in traffic. Police returned two of the children to their homes. The third child told the officers his mother and her boyfriend were not home, but his sick grandmother was there.
According to police, “the entire home was consumed with animal feces and filth.”
Cumberland County Children and Youth Services have taken custody of the two children who were living at the home, and an ambulance brought the grandmother to a nearby hospital. Township officials were called to the scene, and condemned the trailer.
