As years pass on there continues to be more mass shootings at schools and in public. What happened to all of the controversy over banning guns? When will the law be enforced? There are good and bad things that result from taking away or not taking away guns. But all of a sudden, bomb threats have been on the rise. Just look at the bomb threat at Quinnipiac University’s Graduation.
A High School in New York has banned backpacks as well as put restrictions on other things after a series of bomb threats at the school. The new rules went into effect on Tuesday and will remain in place until the school year has ended.
In addition, all books and personal belongings are supposed to stay in a clear bag and all bags will be checked as students enter the school in the mornings and when returning to the building after lunch.
“We are taking this situation very seriously and are working very closely with the Nassau County Police Department as they conduct their investigation,” Goldberg said in a statement. “The additional security protocol in place at the high school will remain in effect indefinitely.”
The first incident happened on the first of May when police said a threatening message was left on the wall of a boy’s bathroom. The high school and middle school were evacuated as a precaution as authorities investigated.
