On Saturday, at 2M’s Malt and Burger Mart in Rosenberg, Texas, an employee noticed a customer acting extremely strange. Restaurant owner Bill McKinney told KTRK-TV that a young man was in the establishment, standing around, and looked as though he was in a state of panic. Another employee recognized the young man’s profile from news reports sweeping the state all weekend.

Police arrested 20-year-old Ryan Walton for the murder of his wealthy parents in Katy, Texas. Michael Robert Walton, 54, and his wife, Lynda Renee Walton, 52, were found fatally shot in their $1.4 million house. Neighbors nicknamed their luxurious residence “The Governor’s Mansion.” Their 24-year-old son, Derrick Walton, found the bodies and immediately called 911. Neighbors expressed shock over the death of the popular couple and parents of four. Police found Mrs. Walton’s 2006 black BMW in 2M’s Malt and Burger Mart parking lot. Around 12pm on Saturday, an off-duty sheriff’s sergeant spotted the BMW, which had been captured on surveillance video, leaving the house around the same time the murders occured.

Authorities questioned and cleared Derrick, then launched a search for his brother Ryan who had recently dropped out of Texas A&M University and moved out of his parents’ house three weeks ago. Ryan Walton was arrested without incident. He is being held without bond on two murder charges.
