The first excerpt of Hillary Clinton’s autobiography ‘What Happened’ has emerged and the ex-Democrat nominee has called President Donald Trump a “creep”.
Two segments from the audio book, which is narrated by Clinton, was aired on Morning Joe on Wednesday and recalls what was in her head when he stood behind her during a debate in St. Louis, Missouri.
“It was incredibly uncomfortable he was literally breathing down my neck,” she said. “My skin crawled.”
This took place just days after the “world heard him brag about groping women”.
“Now we were on a small stage and no matter where I walked, he followed me closely, staring at me, making faces,” Clinton added.
She debated whether or mot to shout at him to leave her alone, but instead took “Option A” because she had been “aided by a lifetime of dealing with difficult men trying to throw me off”.
She revealed that she “gripped the microphone extra hard”.
“Maybe I have overlearned the lesson of staying calm, biting my tongue, digging my fingernails into a clenched fist, smiling all the while determined to present a composed face to the world,” said the former senator, first lady and secretary of state.
The book hits shelves on September 12.
