Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Dwayne Gratz might have enjoyed his team’s bye week a little too much. It was reported by the Florida Times-Union that Gratz was arrested early Sunday morning, and cited for disorderly intoxication and trespassing.
The Florida Times-Union reported that Gratz entered a store and tried to pay for his items with bubble game rather than the currency that we are all used to paying. The employee could thankfully tell the difference, and proceeded to call the police when Gratz would not pay him with actual money.
Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley told the Florida Times-Union, “I’ll meet with him and we’ll handle it internally,” Bradley said. “It’s not good what took place, but it’s a matter we have to investigate even more when he gets back here. I want to talk to him and we’ll handle some things with him.”
Professional athletes continue to amaze me by their bizarre and eccentric actions. If you are too drunk to recognize what money looks like, then I think it’s time to drink a little less. This should be a lesson to all the kids out there: No matter what happens, do not try to use bubble gum as a form of payment.
