Eighteen-Year-Old, Carl Thomas, has been under the media spotlight this week. He attends Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, maintains a 3.3 GPA, and is the star football player for his school. However, Thomas is not only a football player. He also plays nine musical instruments, including the piano, trombone, tuba, small tuba, guitar, bass guitar, snare, trumpet, and drums.

According to the Miami Herald news, Thomas is one of the best high school football players in the country. The teenage sensation, who also helped the school’s football team win numerous national titles and state championships, was only 3-years-old when he developed his love for music. He began piano lessons at the age of 5, threw his first football at the age of 12, and the rest is history! Thomas’ football coach, Tim Harris, stated “I thought he was full of it when he told me he played all of these instruments. Then he started playing them in front of me. I was impressed”.

Thomas is the 3rd best defensive end in the country. When he is not studying or attending football practice, he performs at live music venues in Miami. One of his songs has been downloaded over 245,000 times on music website, Sound Cloud.

Thomas was offered music and football scholarships from 150 colleges. He decided to sign a national letter of intent for the University of Miami. Thomas stated “It’s always been in my mind to go to school there. Football is not for long. I can go down with a knee injury tomorrow, but I know I’ll always be able to move my fingers and play an instrument, click a mouse”.
