Tim Lincecum, a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, played an unfortunately brief game on Saturday. His pitching arm was destroyed in a liner courtesy of D.J. LeMahieu. It happened in the game’s second inning.
According to a report, the ball bounced all the way to first base and the Giants got an out at home plate. Still, Lincecum was removed from the game. No one said much about it as he was removed from the field. The team’s trainer, Dave Groeschner, escorted the pitcher from the field back into the clubhouse.
After Lincecum was removed from the game, the game’s score was 3-0. Two Giants were left on base. For now, the team has Jake Peavy slated to take Lincecum’s place. According to a team manager, they know what they’re doing, but it will be a few days before they release their new rotation.
We wish a smooth and speedy recovery to Lincecum.
