Did you know that Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey started her fighting and mixed martial arts career at just ten years old?
She started out with Judo, she won an Olympic medal in 2008, and now she’s a UFC powerhouse who is going to crush her undefeated upcoming opponent Bethe Correia.
In fact, maybe Rousey will take on Floyd Mayweather when she’s finished!
We’re not kidding; after she won the ESPY (which Mayweather was nominated for) for “Best Fighter,” the female fighter called Mayweather out!
She said, “I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” referencing his history with domestic violence during her post-ESPY interview with ESPN.
Mayweather actually delivered a snarky response, stating that he would go up against Rousey in a charity match to raise money for the “women who look like men” charity.
He also mentioned that the match would allow the fighters to have body padding, which Rousey did not appreciate.
“I actually fight,” Rousey replied, before continuing, “If he wants all these extra rules for padding, let’s make a compromise. We’ll fight with minimal rules and have an actual fight. And if he wants to wear padding, he can wear Playtex Super Plus if he likes.”
That burn wasn’t even the end of it! Rousey included that all proceeds from the fight would go to a domestic violence foundation!
So, as much as we’d love to see this fight happen (so Rousey can kick Mayweather’s behind), first Rousey has to get through her fight with Correia in Brazil on August 1.
Most people are predicting that it will be an easy win for Rousey, but Correia is undefeated so far.
Do you think Correia has any chance?
