Toyota might enable you to fly one day.
The automaker’s Lexus luxury brand, built a working model of a hoverboard. However, the board is not on sale… yet.
According to the Lexus website, the board uses liquid nitrogen-cooled superconductors and magnets.
Hiroyoshi Yoshiki, a managing officer in Toyota’s Technical Administration Group, said this statement in June 2014 at the Bloomberg Next Big Thing Summit in Sausalito, California:
“It’s very confidential information but we have been studying the flying car in our most advanced R&D area. Flying car means the car is just a little bit away from the road, so it doesn’t have any friction or resistance from the road.”
Lexus says it will disclose more information further down the road.
