A Sears sales person has been charged with stealing up to $3.7million worth of goods from a Sears warehouse store.
Kim Watson allegedly sold high-end merchandise that she took from the Sears Distribution Center in Logan Township, New Jersey. Police caught up with Watson on Friday after a long-term investigation that reveal Watson was selling these items for cash payments. Everything from kitchen appliances and bedding had gone unaccounted for.
Police are unsure but believe that the merchandise was sold to a group of people around the NY tri-state area, NJ.com reported.
Watson’s scheme roughly totaled up $3.7 million at retail price, which means Sears has lost close to $2.6 million. Watson was charged with second degree theft and is currently being held at Salem County Jail.
Police are looking into further detail.
