The Hot Zone was excited to receive a personal invite to do a review on Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar’s new brunch menu and it was amazing! Ayza is located on 31st Street in midtown Manhattan, a perfect location in the middle of everything that NYC has to offer. As the Summer is winding down and the Fall season is about to begin, we couldn’t think of a better way to close out our Summer than trying out the new Ayza brunch menu which just started a little over a month ago. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday’s 11am-3pm and the prices are just right at $12 a dish, what a perfect way to start your day! We had a 1:30pm reservation and as soon as we walked into the venue, we were impressed by the quaint, lively atmosphere on a Sunday morning. We were led to our table which was cozy and comfortable. It was the perfect table on a nice end of the Summer day, regardless of a little rain. I mean who cares about a little rain when you’re about to enjoy the scenery and unwind with a delicious brunch and cocktails.
Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. Ayza offers a unique Brunch with over 90 fine wines and champagne from all over the world, many of which are paired with fine chocolate. We kicked off our brunch with some delicious drinks to unwind which was a glass of Prosseco, Bellini and a Mimosa. I have to say, not only were these drinks delicious, but they were the prettiest looking drinks we have ever had. Seriously, the presentation was simply beautiful! Great choices for end of Summer drinks.
It took a while to decide what our palate was in the mood for, so we decided to let the manager recommend a few dishes. Together, we decided to start with the Lime Marinated Chicken with tacos, cotija cheese, artichoke, pico de gallo & sour cream. These were really good, so light, yet bursting with flavor at the same time. The chicken was tender and marinated to perfection.
We always love good avocado toast, so we figured we would see how Ayza’s matched up. It’s served with guacamole, over medium eggs & sesame seeds. Let’s just say we have tried the rest in the past, but now we have tried the best in the present! Sometimes eggs can be a little runny so we were worried it might be the same case here, but that worry was quickly put to rest immediately after our first bite. The eggs were cooked perfectly and we were extremely happy and more than satisfied. We were recommended to also try the Flat Bread and went with the White Truffle Burrata with mango, red pepper flakes, baby rocket arugula, balsamic vinaigrette, & truffle oil. Both dishes were completely tasty and left you wanting to come back for more.
To be honest with you, we are not fans of pork (we are beef lovers) however we wanted to try something new so we sampled Ayza’s pulled pork sliders with avocado, red cabbage, white cheddar cheese & sriracha sauce. The flavor was so good, it literally made our mouths water. It was really surprising that we liked it so much, that just goes to show you how talented and gifted the chefs are at Ayza.
Our last order of business (yes I know it doesn’t sound like work, but it is, lol) was to close out the amazing Brunch with what else other than Ayza’s signature Chocolate Martini (which was more like dessert). We had the classic Chocolate Martini served with dark and cappuccino Truffle and the Raspberry Chocolate Martini served with Menage a Trios chocolate. Honestly, there is really no better way to end Brunch and the wonderful experience at Ayza than this. We wound down Brunch after enjoying our food and reflected on the whole experience with fond admiral thoughts, not to mention a very full and satisfied stomach.
We had a wonderful experience thanks to the amazing staff and of course delectable drinks and food! Overall, the service was impeccable and the experience was fantastic. Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar receives a five-star rating for service and experience. Whether you are planning ladies night out or just a nice Summer/Fall date night out on the town, we highly recommend that you visit Ayza Wine & Chocolate bar for brunch, lunch or dinner today!
