Get ready for a cinematic, Harry Potter reunion, everyone. Emma Watson, famously known for her portrayal of ridiculously intelligent witch Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, is in a new movie called Regression. Watson will star alongside another Potter alum – David Thewlis, who played everyone’s favorite Defense against the Dark Arts professor/werewolf, Remus Lupin. The film will also feature Ethan Hawke.
This is a thriller flick that (We’re betting, anyway) will be scarier than that time Lupin turned into a werewolf, and Dementors tried to suck out Sirius Black’s (Gary Oldman) soul in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This is the first time Watson and Thewlis will have acted together since 2011, when the eighth and final Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part Two, was released in theaters.
In the film, Watson plays Angela Gray, a young woman who goes to the Minnesota police to accuse her father, John Gray (David Dencik) of sexual abuse. Thewlis will portray John Gray’s psychologist, Dr. Kenneth Raines. From then on, the movie gets extra scary. But even if it’s going to freak us out, we’re excited to see it!
