Jon Snow lives on in Game of Thrones. Actor Kit Harington apologized for lying to his fans that his character was in fact dead in the series. To the surprise of the die-hard fans who watch the show got to see that Jon Snow is still alive after being resurrected by Game of Thrones intriguing character Melisandre also known as The Red Woman.

Harington’s character was stabbed to death last season after being betrayed by his fellow Night’s Watch. Last night during the last scene when it seemed as if all was lost Jon Snow resurrected! Making many fans happy and other fans not so much because the actor kept saying that his character was officially dead.

The actor was told by the show’s producers to act as if his character was actually killed off and with no of hope resurrection. Actors are not only expected to act on screen but they are also expected to act off screen so they won’t be able to give too much detail about their characters or what’s to come in the series.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly Harington made a short video apologizing to his fans for lying to them about his beloved character’s fate.

“Sorry!” Harington said. “I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, “Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.”

The actor continued by saying it seems as if people had a similar reaction to the “Red Wedding” in which his half-brother Rob and Rob’s mother Catelyn Stark were also betrayed and killed. Harington liked the fact that people were upset because it lets him know he is doing his job and the show is doing something right.  Game of Thrones fans can rest easy for now knowing their favorite character is not dead anymore.
