Last night, Comedy Central aired Justin Bieber’s roast and the internet exploded with reactions. Reactions ranged from those who found it hilarious to some, including many of Bieber’s fans, finding some of the jokes a bit harsh at times. The start studded event included appearances from Kevin Hart, Ludacris and Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy among others.
Some of the best jokes of the night included Chris D’Elia joking “I’m proud of you. You have it all. You literally are a guy who has it all — except for respect, love, friends, good parents, and a Grammy.” Shaquille O’Neal stating “Last year you were ranked the fifth most hated person of all time. Kim Jong-un didn’t even score that low, and he uses your music to torture people.” And Snoop Dogg saying “When you get to the county jail, hear me, you’re gonna be the first dude who ever had a girlfriend and a boyfriend named Gomez.”
At the end of the night Bieber took the stage to address the audience simply stating “There was really no preparing me for this life. I was thrown into this at 12 years old and didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. There’s been moments I’m really proud of and a lot of moments I look back and I’m pretty disappointed in myself for, but the things that I’ve done really don’t define who I am. I’m a kind-hearted person, who loves people, and through it all I lost some of my best qualities. For that, I’m sorry. But what I can say is I’m looking forward to being someone that you guys can all look at and be proud of.”
Comedy Central is now offering the uncensored version of the roast to viewers on its app.
