20-year-old driver Kevin Ward Jr., was struck and killed on Saturday night at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park track by famed NASCAR driver Tony Stewart.
The incident that led up to Kevin’s death was a tight two-way race between Stewart and Ward Jr., which caused Kevin’s car to spin out. Ultimately leading to Ward getting out of his car to confront Stewart, but he was then struck by Stewart’s car.
Sheriff Philip Povero confirmed that Tony has been ‘fully cooperative’ and that no criminal charges have been filed.
Canandaigua Motorsports Park cancelled the rest of its racing on Saturday after the tragic incident took place.
It should be noted, this isn’t the first anger related issue Tony has been involved in on the track.
But certainly the most costly…
