Attention all celebrity entertainers: Watch your circle and secure your tour buses! A Phoenix man was booked on Wednesday, for allegedly stealing $3 million dollars in jewelry from Drake’s tour bus.
Police say 21-year-old Travion King, found his way into the rapper’s tour bus on Tuesday and stole jewelry belonging to DJ Future The Prince—who’s on tour with the Young Money artist— as he performed at The Talking Stick Resort Arena, in downtown Phoenix, AZ. Police identified King, a transient worker for the venue, from surveillance footage. But when police proceeded to arrest King, they discovered he was already in jail for trespassing at Arizona State University in Tempe.
The briefcase containing the undamaged jewelry that went missing from the tour bus around 10:15 p.m on Tuesday, has been recovered.
According to 12 News, Phoenix Police Department said the way the crime played out shows it was someone most likely familiar with the territory given the tour buses are parked in the lower garage of the venue.
“We’re talking about somebody who knew the layout or was able to gain access or to get back there unnoticed,” said Sgt. Vince Lewis.
According to police, King had done contract work with local venues in the past.
