Thursday, April 4, not only marks President Obama’s 55th birthday, but his last birthday as the president of the United States. We’re just as sad as you are to admit it, but the good
news is it looks like this birthday celebration will be no different from past presidential birthday parties— one to remember.
Reportedly, Mrs. Obama is planning an all inclusive, all-night surprise bash to celebrate Mr. Obama’s last birthday at the White House with a host of celebrities including, Jay Z and Beyoncé. R&B icon, Usher and Kendrick Lamar, the president’s favorite rapper are slated to perform. Others on the star-studded guest list include: Ellen DeGeneres, Stevie Wonder, Anna Wintour, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Magic Johnson, and Alonzo Mourning. Members of the Democratic Party like presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, VP Joe Bidden, Nancy Pelosi, and Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
According to a private source: “All the preparations and the guest list are being kept top-secret. The plan is to throw a party for the president to really let his hair down. There will be performances and a dance party that will go into the night—social media will be banned.” Well, there’s goes our plans on attempting to crash the president’s birthday party from the privacy of our smartphones. The first family are scheduled to fly out to Martha’s Vineyard on vacation after the celebration.
The Obamas are known for throwing quite extravagant events. For Mrs. Obama’s 50th birthday, Beyoncé performed single ladies before John Legend serenaded the first lady with a soulful rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Guests, Sir Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder were also in attendance.
