Two 16-year-old boys in Texas were arrested for murdering another 17-year-old boy when one told cops, “We are burying a body,” in response to the question, “what are you doing?” asked by a police officer.
They were stopped at about 9:30pm on Saturday when they were seen running from the treeline at the Firewheel Mall parking lot in Garland. Shocked by the response, officers searched the wooded area near where they were and found Ivan Mejia, slain and lying on the ground.
Investigators would not say as to how the senior at Wylie East High School was killed or what motivations the two teens may have had in killing him (.
“The entire Wylie ISD community is shocked and saddened by this senseless act,” said the school district. “We are cooperating with the police as they investigate, and we hope they will be able to provide us with some understanding of how this tragedy unfolded. This incident was not connected to any school or district-related activity.”
