Wendy, Wendy, Wendy. Aren’t you just a little troublemaker?
Wendy Williams is notorious for starting drama, but what she said about Joseph Fiennes playing Michael Jackson is a little over the top.
Here’s the scoop, this past Friday, Williams had her segment called the “Hot Talk,” on her acclaimed ‘Wendy Williams Show.’ She invited an eclectic group of public figures for her panel, comedienne Ali Wentworth, reporter Sharon Carpenter and CNN’s Don Lemon. And, trust and believe Williams was not shy about her opinion on the topic.
She said, “That’s like getting Angela Bassett to play Sophia Loren. You just don’t do that! With the roles so few and far between for a lot of black actors, I feel like even if they couldn’t get a name they could’ve got somebody that we don’t know.”
Jeez, poor guy, Joseph Fiennes, who is already being bombarded with controversial opinions on the role.
Of course, a majority of the panelists agreed with Williams egregious comments. But, CNN host, Lemon said that the timing of the news was worse than the actual content.
Do you think Wendy went to far? Or, is she just pumped for the current Oscar issues going on?
