On Thursday night, die-hard Yankees fan and owner of Luke’s Bar and Grill, Luigi Militello, found an authentic 2013 Red Sox World Series championship ring on a restroom sink in his very own restaurant.
What are the odds of that?
Drew Weber, the owner of the misplaced ring was at the restaurant hours earlier; it’s one of his favorite spots according to The Associated Press. He’s a New York businessman but also owns a Red Sox Class A minor league team.
Which happens to be how he obtained the ring.
Major league teams often give executives throughout their organization World Series rings.
This was the first time he’d worn the ring in public, he said.
I’m sure it was the first and last time he decides to bring that ring outside.
Only after realizing the ring was missing, he placed a call to the restaurant shortly after midnight. In which owner Luigi told him he had the ring, but of course not before playfully giving him a hard time. You know with the whole Yankees, Red Sox rivalry and all.
The good deed would not go unrewarded. Weber invited his new pal to make his first trip to Fenway Park for the regular-season finale, which also happens to be Derek Jeter’s last regular season game as a Yankee.
