We were thrilled to receive a personal invite to do a review on Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar located on 31st Street in NYC. After all, it was 4th of July and we couldn’t think of a better way to start our day off with a bang and a memorable experience. My PR & Marketing Director and I had a reservation for lunch at 1pm and as soon as we walked into the venue, we were impressed by the quaint, lively atmosphere. We were led to our table which was outside on a perfect 82 degree day under the red umbrellas. It was the perfect table on a beautiful summer day where you could enjoy the scenery and unwind with delicious food and cocktails.
Our waitress Savannah was attentive, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. I also have to mention that she made the best chocolate martini that I’ve ever had! Ayza offers a unique food menu and over 90 fine wines and champagne from all over the world, many of which are paired with fine chocolate. We started off with drinks to unwind which was a glass of Prosseco and an Amaretto Sour. Two great choices for Summer drinks. The Amaretto Sour, which is my favorite drink by the way, was light, sweet and fruity….it tasted like candy.
It took a while to choose appetizers as there are so many options to choose from. We decided to go with the Angry Chicken Lollipops with Spicy sesame hoisin sauce and crispy rice noodles. The Chicken Lollipops were so tasty and the chicken just melted in our mouths and was so flavorful. We also ordered the White Truffle Pizza with garlic cream sauce, bresaola (salt cured beef) and white truffle oil. All we will say is that the pizza was so good, we ordered a second one before lunch ended. Yup, that’s how good it was!
It was now time for our entrees as our mouths watered for more. We honestly couldn’t wait for what else was in store for us as the excitement continued to build! We decided on the Crispy baby shrimp dumplings which was flavorful and delicious and the newly added mini cheeseburgers cooked to absolute perfection! We also ordered the lightly breaded grilled chicken with seasonal vegetables, lemon mustard and red pepper sauce. The most important thing I remember about this dish was how flavorful the chicken was, it was literally bursting with flavors and seasoned to perfection. Our table was like being in heaven looking down at our array of food that Ayza placed in front of us, we couldn’t have been happier with our scenery, lol.
After finishing our entrées, we decided to order dessert but we were unsure about what we wanted. Our waitress suggested we get the Twenty-Layer Crêpes Cake Brûlée, with 20 layers of crêpe and organic whipped cream. She came back with this yummy looking dessert and we couldn’t wait to dig in especially since I have a sweet tooth. It was so moist and light and was exactly what the doctor ordered. To say this dessert was great would have been an understatement. It was amazing!
Our last order of business (yes I know it doesn’t sound like work, but it is, lol) was to close out the amazing lunch with what else other than Ayza’s signature Chocolate Martini (which was more like dessert). We had the classic Chocolate Martini served with dark and cappuccino Truffle and the Raspberry Martini served with Menage a Trios chocolate. Honestly, there is really no better way to end lunch and the wonderful experience at Ayza than this. We wound down lunch after enjoying our food and reflected on the whole experience with fond admiral thoughts, not to mention a very full stomach.
We had such a wonderful experience thanks to the amazing staff and of course delectable drinks, food and dessert! Overall, the service was impeccable and the experience was fantastic. We even had a chance to talk and share some laughs with Co-Owner, Zafer Sevimcok. Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar receives a five-star rating for service and experience. Whether you are planning date night, ladies night out or just a nice summer day out on the town, we highly recommend that you visit Ayza Wine & Chocolate bar!
