It’s that time of year again as the Summer 2016 season is here which means good times and good food! There’s nothing better in the Summer than a great steak! Since opening in 2006, Benjamin Steakhouse has established itself as one of New York City’s premier steakhouses, attracting business professionals and celebrities alike. Owner Benjamin Prelvukaj and Chef Arturo McLeod combined their 30 plus years of experience to create Benjamin Steakhouse, located one block from Grand Central Station. Though both Benjamin and Chef McLeod are alumnus of the famed Peter Luger Steak, Benjamin Steakhouse has a style all of its own.
The Hot Zone had a recent visit to Benjamin Steakhouse in search for NYC’s best steaks and we found it! The evening kicked off as we walked through the doors and were immediately greeted by their professional staff and upscale décor, what a beautiful scene. Walking up the aisle to our table, the atmosphere was one of the greatest impressions at a steakhouse that I can remember. Our red booth was set with crisp white linen table clothes, wine glasses, candles and a fireplace.
The night began with drinks; we opted for the Lemon Drop Martini and an Amaretto Sour, two perfect drinks to kick off both the night and the earlier 4th of July festivities. Next, the appetizers arrived which were delicious and very generously portioned, we barely thought we could eat our main course! But that fear didn’t stop us from sampling the delicious delights that were in store for us. The appetizers we selected were the baked clams and the Caesar salad. They were both so good as we always love a good Caesar salad and the baked clams were amazing.
For dinner we selected the Surf and Turf and the Benjamin Burger which came with a half bottle of wine. Everything proved to be as good as it looked; the Surf and Turf was tender, juicy, fresh and seasoned just right. Since we are picky when it comes to steaks, the absolute satisfaction we felt just proved how delicious it really was. If you are a steak lover, you must try Benjamin Steakhouse because their steaks are without a doubt, simply the best we’ve had in New York City. As for the Benjamin Burger…it was to die for! I like my burgers well done and I know some restaurants don’t like to cook their meat well done. At Benjamin Steakhouse it was no problem as they cooked it to my liking, well done, juicy and flavorful.
Surprisingly enough, after all the delicious food that we consumed…we found a little space left in our stomach for dessert. We were delighted to hear that they have my favorite Tiramisu cake on the menu, so we happily ordered it. It was the best way to close out the night along with a cup of coffee as well. The Tiramisu was so light and creamy and melted right in our mouth. It’s just one of those things in life that may be a little bad for you, but also damn right for you at the same time, lol.
