If you are looking for a hot spot to vacation in New York City for Summer 2016, then look no further than Hotel Elysée for the best hotel accommodations hands down! The Hotel Elysée is the only hotel where you can find the air of a countryside inn with the elegance of a luxury hotel right in the center of midtown. Guests are offered an array of personalized services and amenities with no extra charge such as a wine and cheese reception from 5pm-8pm, free tea and cookies in their club room, and a number of passes to various health clubs located in the area. Hotel Elysée is conveniently located at East 54th St. between Madison and Park Ave. This location allows it’s guests to be a hop, skip, and jump away from some of the greatest attractions in New York such as Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping, and so much more.

The Hot Zone had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful boutique hotel recently and had such a memorable experience. As soon as we walked in, the door man greeted us with a smile and asked us if we needed any help with our luggage. The receptionist was equally as courteous and professional, and to our delight they alerted us that we would be staying in the Presidential Suite Honoring Vladimir Horowitz. I must say it felt good to feel like Barack Obama even if it was only for one day, I will take it lol. Seriously, you feel like royalty the minute you walk in the hotel, and that is a feeling you won’t get in too many NYC hotels.

Our room was on the 12th floor and when we put the key card in and opened the door, we were met with such an impressive scene. The living room was huge with a flat screen TV, two couches, dining room table, fire place (not that we needed it in June) grand piano and kitchen. This Presidential Suite fills the complete apartment needs of anyone who is looking for all the amenities of their own home.

As we entered the bedroom there was a King size bed which by the way was so soft and comfortable, I didn’t want to get out of it Sunday morning. To top off the bedroom, it had and attached terrace with flowers and a beautiful view of NYC, couldn’t get any better than that. There is soooo much to do in NYC, especially on Summer days with beautiful weather. The hardest thing about staying at the Hotel Elysée is trying to figure out whether to go outside and enjoy the outdoor NYC activities and weather or stay inside and enjoy all the amenities they offer. It’s a toss up, but with the terrace attached to the bedroom, looks like you may just be able to accomplish a little bit of both.

Easily one of the best features of the Hotel Elysée is that it is one of the few remaining hotels in New York City to still have outside terraces. New York City is known for it’s amazing skyline views and Hotel Elysée is able to provide you with them from the comfort of your own room.

After we settled in the room and dropped off our bags, it was time to hit the Club Room for some fine wine and cheese. Guests enjoy a complimentary wine & hors d’oeuvres reception every evening from 5pm – 8pm. Complimentary afternoon tea, coffee, cookies and whole fruits are available to our guests in the Club Room throughout day. This is a perfect way to unwind a bit and kick start your night in NYC where you get to meet plenty of nice people and engage in some entertaining conversations. We met and conversed with guests from Philadelphia, Denver etc. Everyone is pleasant and generally interested in getting to know and talk to one another.

Sunday morning after a long but exciting  Saturday night out in the city, naturally we woke up hungry. Luckily for us, breakfast is served daily in the Club Room Monday – Friday 7 am – 10:30 am; Saturday & Sunday 7 am – 11 am.   There are a variety of selections like hot oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, fresh whole fruit and fruit salad with melon and berries, whole wheat toast, assorted croissants, mini-muffins, Danish and scones, bagels with cream cheese, peanut butter, preserves and butter, fresh orange, apple and cranberry juice, assorted cereals, assorted yogurts, and a selection of international coffees and teas. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day to get you started, so we definitely took full advantage of the delicious Continental breakfast provided.
